Men's Health published an article stating that exercise is a hangover cure (see #9 http://www.menshealth.com/mhu/party/11-ways-ease-nasty-hangover). Join us on New Year's Day as we Mythbust this one while climbing through Cheesquake State Park. But hey, if the exercise doesn't help your head know the group will go out post-hike for a late lunch (order coffee, #3, or toast, #5, or even greasy food #6) and drinks (Hair of the Dog, #4).
$20 at the door (so please register online)
$20 online and at the door
Limited tickets are available. All sales are final. Your name will be at the door if you buy a ticket.
Maren will be leading this hike. Maren will not be waiting for late people. In fairness to those who arrive on time, the hike will start on time.
Difficulty level is 1.8, http://www.njyp.org/page/hike-ratings
4+ miles long.
As with all hikes you must be in good, athletic shape. Beginners are encouraged to attend.
If the group size is larger than 10, we are going to look for a volunteer to act as a sweeper. Sweepers will walk at the end of the hike line and will make sure the group stays together.
What to bring:
Hiking boots and 3 liters of water (required).
Also recommended is non cotton clothing.
Sunscreen and a light snack or a small lunch.
Extreme weather may cancel this hike. Drizzle will not cancel this hike. Please check your inbox for updates. Tickets will be refunded if the hike is canceled.
Take GSP South or North Local to exit 120. At the end of the ramp, make a right onto Matawan Rd. At the first light, make a right onto Cliffwood Ave. At the end of that, make a right onto Gordon Rd. Follow Gordon Rd. into the park. After passing by the gate and visitor’s center, look for the first parking lot on the left hand side.
