This 3,000 acre park, located adjacent to the D&R Canal, is an oasis of wetlands, forests, farmlands and old fields offering miles of paths for hikers, bikers and horseback riders.  Originally targeted as the site of a reservoir, the site remains open to the public to explore.  After the hike the group may go out for drinks and a late lunch.

Length of the hike will be about 6 miles.
We will walk at a moderate pace.

As with all hikes you must be in good, athletic shape.

If the group size is larger than 10,  we are going to look for a volunteer to act as a sweeper. Sweepers will walk at the end of the hike line and will make sure the group stays together.

Keira will be leading this hike.

What to bring:
Hiking boots recommended.
At least 2 liters of water (required).
We will stop for a snack about half way through the hike so we recommend you bring something to eat.
We also recommend tissues, plastic bags for garbage, and similar items.

Inclement Weather:
Heavy precipitation will cancel this hike; drizzle will not. Please check your inbox for updates and the NJYP.org calendar. Tickets will be refunded.

Finding the Group:
Meet in the parking lot PROMPTLY at 10:30.  Please allow extra travel time as many of these parks are harder to find.

The group will meet in the Canal Road parking lot.  There is also parking available on Blackwells Mills Road.

From Route 206 in Hillsborough:
Turn east onto Amwell Road, follow for 3.2 miles.  Turn right onto County Road 533/Main St/Millstone River Road, follow for 2.1 miles.  Turn left onto Blackwell Road/Blackwells Mills Road.  Continue 0.3 miles – once you cross over the D&R Canal Bridge, turn right onto Canal Road.  The parking lot is on the left.

Hi Tim.

I didn't buy my ticket yet but I'm planning to go on Sunday.  How would I go about it?  I was going to send you a note but it says we have to be friends.  Please let me know.  Thanks Monica :)

Zehra - I don't mind pets, I would actually love to bring my dog along sometime - but I'm going to let Laura confirm this first.

Hi I was wondering if we were allowed to bring pets with us on this hike?

Hey, all - this should be a really nice fall hike...and then afterward, there's a new place in Hillsborough where we can go. Can't wait!

Think sun between now and October 9! This is a really nice hike along Six Mile Run and right next to the D&R Canal!

Expect lots of mud to climb through and trees to climb over.  Hiking boots should be worn.
