Event Description

Join us for our 3rd Annual Memorial Day Picnic. This year we have moved the picnic to a new spot that is right in Morristown! We will have a smaller "shelter" area but that just means more sun. The baseball field will be a lot closer to the picnic area plus parking is going to be much more convenient. If you have never attended one of our holidays picnics now is the time. They are low cost but TONS of fun!

RSVP (to the right) and we will let you know when tix are almost gone, when prices are going up, if there are any changes, etc.

What to bring:
Play- kickballs, softballs, bats, mitts, wiffle ball set, Frisbees, water guns, etc.
Relax- blankets, beach chairs, music
Consume- Food to share! Think burgers, buns, pasta salads, fruit salads, hummus, salsa and chips, brownies, etc. PLUS charcoal, aluminum foil, lighter fluid, ice, coolers, beverages, napkins, plates, WE BOUGHT AN ALCOHOL PERMIT SO BYOB.

Shared Table:
We will set up a "Share" table where food, condiments, drinks, plates, cups, etc. that you want to share with everyone can be placed. It would be awesome if everyone can LIST what they are going to bring to share when you RSVP on www.NJYP.org. Last year we ended up with about 1000 napkins! Try to spend about $10 on the food/items you bring to be fair.

Schedule:
11:00 Picnic registration begins (you will need a wrist band)
1:00 We take over the softball field
8:00 They kick us out of the park

Member Cost:
$10 by 5-6-09
$15 from 5-6-09 to 5-20-08
$20 after 5-20-08 and at the door

Non-Member Cost:
$20 online and at the door

Premium Member Cost:
$5 by 5-6-09
$10 from 5-6-09 to 5-20-08
$15 after 5-20-08 and at the door

All sales are final.
Please do NOT print your tickets, your name will be at the door.

About Loantaka Park:
Charcoal grills will be available (BYO charcoal and tin foil and cleaners).
2 electrical outlets will be available.
We will have a small shaded shelter area where we will mostly keep all of the food and supplies. There will be MANY picnic tables for us to share right outside of the shelter.
Leashed pets are welcome (yes, they must wear a leash so we don't get fined).

Rain:
Heavy/consistent rain will cancel this event and tickets will be refunded.

Directions:
Using Google Maps, look up this address 480 South St, Morristown, NJ 07960.
Or use the park map and look for the South Street Recreational Area. If the lot is full you will have to find another lot and walk over. Perhaps print the map out so you can navigate around the park and please try to carpool.
Do not park illegally or they will tow your car.

How to find the Group:
Once you arrive at the sheltered area look for the NJYP registration table (sign and black tablecloth). All attendees will be given wristbands to wear all day.

Comment by Brian and Mike on May 24, 2009 at 10:12am: I'm going to bring tablecloths, 200 plates, 50 cups, 1 pack of napkins, music, extra serving bowls, garbage bags, and the rest is TBD. We certainly will need more plates, cups, and napkins and forks and knives.
