Event Description

This is frustrating but know that this event is again canceled. Due to last week's storm the shelter has not been able to prepare for us due to snow on the ground. Refunds will be sent ASAP.

If you like “Habitat for Humanity” then you will love this! We are going to put together two teams of Young Professionals to assist in creating indoor/outdoor pens for dogs.

The goal will be to create 5-6 pens, 4 of which will have free access to outdoor pens. This project will involve some light construction, painting, and other Habitat for Humanity type work. NO SKILLS are required and we need 24 Young Professionals in all!

Where You Will Be Working:
You will be working in a well insulated garage that is heated with portable heaters. Please bring layers and winter clothes (hat, scarf, etc) so if you find the work space too cold you can layer up.

Supervision:
The effort will be supervised by a construction volunteer who has been working with the organization on this project.

Schedule:
We are going to break the workday up into 2 shifts. If you want to stay all day please sign up for both shifts by putting a deposit down twice.
Shift A 10am – 1:15pm
Shift B 1:15pm – 4pm

Deposits:
Because they are relying on us we are asking that all volunteers put down a FULLY REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT of $10.99. The $10.99 will be returned to all who attend the event. Cancellations will be accepted up until noon on the day before the volunteering event.

About Seer Farms:
Seer Farms is a nonprofit animal sanctuary dedicated to providing interim care for pets who are temporarily displaced due to foreclosure, disaster, illness, domestic violence or military service. Seer Farms offers families a chance to recover from crisis and then, to reunite with their pets when they are ready to resume their care.

How to Find Us:
Let staff know you are volunteering with NJYP. We may be the only volunteers scheduled for that day.

Directions:
There is a white Sign at the head of the driveway that reads “Woodfield”.
Pull in and park anywhere in the big lot.

I'm excited to be working towards such a rewarding cause. I love animals and am glad I can help! Looking forward to this event and meeting new people. Look forward to seeing you at the afternoon event. (Sorry, have to hit the gym in the morning)

I still plan to attend both because this is my kind of event! Hopefully we'll have enough to make this happen!
