Event Description

Let's meet-up to help the Food Bank of NJ. As a team we will be working in the Food Bank warehouse: sorting and re-packing food items, sorting children's clothes for underprivileged kids or re-stocking school supplies in the Kids' Division. After we bond over non-perishable items everyone will be encouraged to attend a late lunch at a nearby restaurant (always a blast).

What to BRING:
Food supplies are at an all time low. All volunteers are asked to bring ONE food item.
Canned tuna, Canned soups, Mac & cheese, Peanut butter in plastic jars, Spaghetti sauce, Pasta, Cereal, Canned vegetables

What to wear:
Think comfortable. Jeans, t-shirt and sweatshirt are fine. Dress in layers in the winter. No open-toed shoes, sandals or flip flops. Please wear shoes or sneakers. No good jewelry. Please leave all purses, backpacks, iPods and other valuables locked in your cars. Bring work gloves if you desire.

Schedule:
11:25 Meet-up with the volunteer host.
11:30 to 1:30 Volunteer Activity
1:30 Meet for lunch at Tiffany’s (optional)

Deposits:
Because the Food Bank is relying on us we are asking that all volunteers put down a FULLY REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT of $9.19. The $9.19 will be returned to all who attend the event. Cancellations will be accepted (and deposits refunded) up until noon on the day before.

RSVP (to the right) and we will let you know when tix are almost gone, when prices are going up, if there are any changes, etc.

Post-Event Meet-up (optional):
Tiffany's Restaurant
1637 Vauxhall Road
Union, NJ 07083
Please bring directions with you.

About the Community Food Bank of NJ:

The FoodBank is the state's largest provider of donated groceries to charities, shipping up to 24 million pounds of food annually to 1,500 food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters and other programs in 18 counties. The FoodBank also distributes government-donated U.S. Agriculture Department food product."

Parking:
Parking is available along the length of the building; please do not block loading docks of the buildings across the street from the Foodbank. Your cars may be towed!
