I attend Montclair State for my Masters in speech therapy, but next Tues the 7th I start my first externship. I'll be working, under supervision, at Robert Wood Johnson hospital in New Brunswick for the semester. Wish me luck!
Hey Leah, my best friend is getting the same degree, but from William Paterson. Good luck in your externship!

Hey John, what are you going for and what are you studying? Enjoy your first day of classes.

*Update* My first day was a success! I only had one three-hour class, but the professor seems awesome! Oh, and I knew someone in the class already, which was a relief as well.
Good luck! I graduated Ramapo in 04' some great times and a scenic campus. The teaching program is good there too!
Thanks Drew!

Wow Jon, that's great! I'm would like to teach middle school science. I already passed the Elementary Ed Praxis, so now I have to take the Middle School Science exam.

Where do you teach and what subject/grade?

Hey Rachel, I'm actually a starting teacher, I just graduated from a teacher prep with certification program at Rutgers. What are you looking for in terms of certification (subject, grade, etc). I might not be able to take classes with you, but I wouldn't mind giving you an idea of what to expect in the program!

Hi Rachel,

I'm not currently in school but I did go back to school at one time for my teaching certification after working in advertising. Anything at all I can help you with, I'd be more than happy to. :-)

I will be teaching over at Glen Rock next week (delayed opening because of construction in the HS). But Rutgers has an excellent science program, I focused on Physics myself, however there are other subjects that you can focus on as well as a program dedicated to middle school and elementary school science. I'll try to find a link later on this week and forward you some information!

Regards,
Jon

Rachel, I'm so much happier even though I'm currently teaching in Catholic school and would ultimately like to be in public. I teach 3rd grade so I teach everything but it's great. No 2 days are ever the same. It was definitely an adjustment coming from business but for me it was for the better.

Let me know if there's anything at all I can do to help ya out. :-)

I am taking International Marketing as part of my MBA ... about 5 more courses to go but not in a hurry to get my degree due to the economy. Though I'm targeting multinational corporations (e.g. IBM) as my eventual place to work. First day of class was pretty good, I have to admit ... see how the rest of the semester goes.

I'm glad to hear you're doing well and happier than ever! Aww, 3rd graders are so cute!!! We'll chat at an upcoming event, for sure!

Rachel,
Best of luck to you! Education is great I have been teaching for a few years and love it! If I can help with anything or answer any questions let me know. I have had several college students as well as two student teachers. I recomend a dual certification as it is more marketable when you graduate.
thanks rob, i'll let you know! where do you teach and what subjects?
