Beginner's Golf

Does anyone know of (or want to start) a beginner's golf group in NNJ? I just started this summer and would love to plan get togethers with others who play. You must be OK with a total beginner though!

Hi Gina! I used to play varsity golf in high school! I use that term very loosely. I haven't played much since, but would definitely be interested in getting back to it. I'm not very good but would love to get back to it! Keep me posted! ~Amy

Where do you teach? What kind of course would you recommend beginners start on?

Sorry for the delay. I used to teach Special Ed, Bio, Social Studies, English, Algebra.

As for beginning, I would recommend a small Par 3 course that way you can get used to etiquette on the course, playing with distances and certain clubs, time spent, etc. such as this one:

I would also recommend that if you're serious, aside from going with a partner who is of equal skill level, you go with someone who is teaching you the game as well as how to golf. As before, I am well qualified and willing to work for peanuts, er meatballs {or was that Adam Sandler who worked for that giving music lessons?}.

Hi Gina! I'm a beginner myself as I just started playing in February. I unfortunately haven't been out much as I had wanted to this Spring and Summer (one too many excuses as to why I haven't). I'm itching to get out there and to the range again but I don't have anyone local to me pushing me to get out there!

I've played in college in GA and since moving back to NJ I haven't and would like to. I'm most certainly a beginner so let me know if you get something together. There is a par 3 golf course near my office in Florham Park. If anyone is interested.

Are any of you interested in trying to set up a time to try out a round at a 9 hole course near the shore (I think it's in Wall, NJ) on Saturday, August 24th? I would have to call for more info and see what times are available but wanted to get an idea of interest first!
