I was wondering if anyone would be interested in setting up a camping weekend now that the weather is getting nicer.  I have been camping many times and love it!  Maybe we could toss a hike into the mix as well?  Let me know your thoughts.

In the past I have gone to Jim Thorpe, PA ( www.jimthorpecamping.com)
Its a beautiful mountainous area. You can check out ihttp://www.jtraft.com/default.htm for information about the area.

For anyone interested in rafting we could do that too (well depending on the weather!) I know there are a bunch of places in Jersey as well. I am totally open on location and don't mind driving.
So if everyone is okay with the date, lets plan on May 15th? (I need to plan in advance because of my work schedule!) I work every other Saturday but one of the perks is I get a weekday off so I could even prob take of Friday the 14th if there is anyone else that would want to head out on Friday.

I would absolutely love to plan a weekend at Jim Thrope when its warm out and go rafting Kristen!
Rafting sounds like fun! I could do the 15th!
Hey,

If we are rafting, we will probably want to book early for the 15th. Jim Thorpe lists it as the first whitewater release of the season. Also, it's roughly $60 per person for rafting, and camping depends on how many people we get ($28 for the first 2 then $5 each additional person).

Alternatively, we can camp / hike / canoe (or some other outdoorsy activity) in NJ. I'm up for either option.

Thoughts?
Bike wine and dine sounds great! I am up for anything :-)

Keep in mind, it's usually not that warm in May and the river will be cold. The Lehigh River is classified as type 3/4 rapids during dam release. Type 5/6 are dangerous, think rafting in Colorado. It seemed a little scary to kayak. Depending on the place, the wet suits and water shoes are mandatory in the spring. Hope that you get a dry suit in the beginning of the day. Unfortunately, mine was damp and smelly. I bought my own water shoes. I was freezing, but it was Memorial Day weekend and at night.

Would anyone be interested in downhill biking or the bike, wine & dine? It's $40 or $18 without the bike rental and just the shuttle. $60 for bike, wine & dine.

I used this company for Moonlight Rafting: great staff and deal. It was beautiful rafting at night, I recommend it!

They also do Skirmish paintball or combo deals (bike & skirmish, raft & skirmish, etc) too!
This sounds awesome! I love to camp and have some gear. Keep me posted on dates! :)

LOVING the bike, wine, & dine. maybe we can fit in a hike, too! rafting sounds great, but i dislike overly cold water. maybe it'd be a better option later in the season. may 15th should work, i'll block my calendar! :) ahh can't wait!

I would totally be interested. Have been wanting to go for years.
I've been mountain biking for the last 10 years-ish, so I'd love the downhill option if anyone is up for it. Paintball would be fun too! I'm not as interested in the wine tasting option, but I'll do whatever the group decides.

My vote:
biking + paintball saturday, camping overnight nearby (with campfire and s'mores of course!). Then maybe brunch Sunday morning? Perhaps a morning hike?
I'm already going camping in early June in upstate NY with some friends but may be interested in going to this as well. Keep me in the loop and let me know what the final plan ends up being
I'm still interested in a camping weekend, not so much biking (I'm the girl that stops in front of a curb to get over it). White water rafting in warmer weather too.
Ok so I am up for anything and majority rules but my vote would be to do the wine and dine Saturday afternoon, bbq/ smores/ campfire Saturday night. Sunday morning hike... In addition I could take off on Friday if anyone is interested in heading out on Friday.

We could also break off into smaller groups if there are enough of us. I am thinking about taking my bike.
