Is anyone interested in going to check out a live cover band one of these days??  I haven't gone to see one in a while so I am definitely in the mood to go.  I also don't know where we could see a good one so any suggestions are welcome.  Let me know what you think.

I used to see cover bands all the time but now I don't go as often. What kind of music are you looking for? And are you looking for a band that covers a specific artist or just music in general?
I am looking for a good band that will play current and/or 80s rock. I used to go all the time also when I used to live in Hoboken. There must be good bands that play in other places outside of Hoboken or the Jersey Shore. :-)

Well, if I'm going to go see a cover band I usually check out The Benjamins, Lifespeed, Bitter X or I've been dying to see Go Go Gadjet! I saw them at Jenks Anniversary party last year and they were amazing! They play everything from dance to rock. As far as places to go see bands-Hoboken, Colorado Cafe, Shannon Rose (both locations), Jenks and Bar A (in the Winter only), and Downtown Cafe are a few places that come to mind right now.
Yeah, I remember the Benjamins being my favorite band to see. We should definitely get a group to go check them out one of these days. :-)

I like Just Jakes in Montclair for a venue. They've got bands in a couple of nights each week.
This would be fun! Let me know if you come up with a plan!
I think that Robin and I (and perhaps others?) are going to go see the Nerds in Freehold tomorrow night. She posted a new discussion with the details at the link below if anyone is interested in joining us:

Wow, I didn't see that forum. Unfortunately I can't make it. Let's definitely try to get a group out to see a band another time soon. I will keep my eye out. :-)
YEA! Definitely, if any of you are available (and local) for tomorrow's event to go see the NERDS come out!!! It should be a great time.

(And, on a side note, I love going to see cover bands... I used to be in one, so I love criticizing. LOL) :-p
Robin,

Are you interested in coming down to a rehearsal with my cover band (we are currnelty polishing up our set lists and working in a singer..but I was looking to have a female vocalist on a tune or two..maybe building a mystery by sarah M. just an FYI..in the up coming months I will be performing at many of the venues mention in the thread and wanted to corrdinate something with the NJYP group. I used to get out there with Darlene a lot, but like she said, don't go out that often anymore. I'm a fan of the same bands and bars she is. If you are on Facebook(who isn't these days) you can friend "PASS Productions" and Scott sends out weekly updates on what bands are where and when. :D
I'd like to add if you like heavier music, Freak and Octane are good bands, but I don't know how often Freak plays anymore and Octane is from Philly so they don't venture up here that often. But they are definitely worth going out of your way for. They also have original music.

I'd love to go if you guys plan something. I haven't seen any bands in NJ since I moved here!
