Hi All,

I was wondering if there are any car enthusiasts out there who would be interested in getting a group together to attend the New York Auto Show which is taking place at the Jacob Javits Center in NYC from April 18th until April 27th.

I plan to attend on Saturday afternoon, April 26th.  If anyone would like to join, please respond to this post.

Thanks!

As a biker I'd be definitely interested; maybe we can talk about it Saturday, unless you think tomorrow may be a good day to go . . .

Hey, I can't make it to the show until the 26th.  Celebrating Easter holiday this weekend.

I'm going Sunday the 27th :)

27th is no good as it's Mercy Sunday and JP II's canonization.

Hey Karen - ah, it would be great if you could make it the 26th instead :) Have fun, though!

In case anyone is interested, Maserati of Bergen County is hosting Cars and Coffee. The last few meet up have had some awesome cars, this one is going to be great. It's Sunday the 27th. Have fun @ the Auto show!

Thank you! It's going to be my first time going. Do you have any tips?

Thank you for the recommendation! - the facebook link didn't work for me, though.  What time is the event?

I'm sure you'll enjoy :) A few words of advice: Buy tickets online, in advance.  The ticket line gets long, especially on the weekends. Be prepared to take pictures - even if you're not 100% into cars, there is always a photo op or something interesting to capture.  And defintely try to sit in a car you always liked - you'd be surprised how many cars look nice on the outside but are not very comfortable/roomy on the inside. Let me know how you liked the show!

You probably have to Join the Facebook Group to see the event, you can see it here:

The event starts at 9:30am and runs until 12:30pm on Sunday.

The auto show this year was pretty entertaining. Though there wasn't nearly as much going on in terms of events this past year, I definitely recommend the Jeep Expedition in the front of the center, they built a small off-roading course and take 3 or 4 people for rides. Also downstairs they have an Electric Vehicle course, I was there on a press pass so I got to drive the car around the little track. Definitely be sure to go check out the Mercedes display, it's incredible and the cars are amazing as always. In general, it's a great time for any auto enthusiast or even if you just want to become an informed consumer.

P.S. If you have 4 hours of your time to waste, or are considering buying a Ford, make sure you get one of the test drive cards at the Ford Booth, they'll give you $50 just for test driving a car at one of their dealerships.

Hey Michael - won't be able to attend the event on Sunday - had made some other plans for that morning.  Thanks so much for the review of the show.  A big Mercedes fan here so I'm even more excited to go on Saturday!

I'm a good ol' fashioned Good Ol' Boy so it's all about Harley-Davidson/Indian motorcycles and GMC Pickups and who can forget the DeLorean or Camaro or Challenger for Sport or the classic 80's style Cadillacs for comfort and luxury.  As the saying goes, "Nothing like American Muscle."  You don't happen to have a spare ticket already or I'd have to get one on my own?
