I know I tried doing this in the spring but the nice weather kept people from wanting to spend time indoors.  I figured that since it's officially autumn that I'd revisit this forum regarding any knitters/crotchers out there who might be interested in meeting up in November to share techniques over some coffee or drinks. Anyone interested?

Hi All,

I've been knitting on/off for about 2 years now, and I thought I'd see if anyone else in the group is into yarn arts.  I know I still consider myself a "beginner" knitter and am looking to improve my skills.

I know there are a couple yarn groups out there, but I would like to find/create one that is geared towards people in their 20s & 30s.  Perhaps we can make arrangements for NJYP people to get together somewhere locally to knit/crotchet, show off projects, and help each other out with patterns & techniques?

Suggestions for a public meeting place for the group in the Middlesex/Union County areas would be welcomed.

I've only crocheted, and I've fallen away from it as of late, but I'd be happy to get together with interested NJYPers and take it back up! (I know Lena knows this, but I'm in Middlesex County as well.)
I'd love to learn!
I am a beginner, I recently learned how to knit a meditation shawl and would love to learn how to knit other projects.
I knit and crochet, but I have yarn art ADD - there's about a dozen WIPs on needles or hooks around my house currently. It'd be great to have a group to stitch with (maybe I'd actually finish something that way), and I don't mind helping out the beginners. I also am in Middlesex, and I have connections to some of the Starbucks in the area, so I can find out if anyone minds us sitting in their cafe once in a while.
Awesome! I'm glad to see that there's interest in doing something like this.

Mara, I'm glad that you know how to both knit and crochet and can help with the beginners.

I've never attempted to teach anyone to knit and I don't know if I would be successful at it.

What day of the week would work best for most people?
Mondays and Wednesdays are generally out for me, but I can probably make any other day work.
I would definitely be interested in learning how to knit or crochet! I recently tried to find local clubs and didn't have much luck.
hi im into crocheting and having fun learning new patterns but i live in passaic county
The first Tuesdays and Thursdays of the months are going to be out for me as well...but the rest of the month, I am usually free most nights.

Would anyone be opposed to trying to meet up on a Saturday or Sunday in March? I know there's usually not that many NJYP events scheduled for those days.
I knit and crochet and would love to meet up with other people! It's in Essex County, but Modern Yarn in Montclair is open late Tuesdays and Thursdays, and I believe has a knitting group Thursday nights: http://www.modernyarn.com/.

I am down though for a weekend meet up too in March.
Hi! I went to the Modern Yarn in Monclair knitting group and it was great! I used to knit and crochet but it's been a while so I would love to get back into it! I'm up for a weekend day in March as well :)
A weekend in March works for me too. Any day but the 27th.
