Clarins, a leading European cosmetics, and luxury fragrance company is seeking a Demonstration and Compensation Analyst for our corporate headquarters, located conveniently on the Bergen/Rockland boarder to validate all Demonstration charge-backs and dispute with the retailers if necessary.  The Demonstration and Compensation Analyst will ensure that invoices are paid in a timely manner and all arrangements and billings are executed accurately.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


• Analyze In-Store personnel deductions: salary, fixed salary, commission, override, bonus and expenses.  Evaluate pay arrangements and dispute discrepancies with Retailer contacts.
• Manage In-Store personnel monthly bonus payments and accruals
• Prepare monthly financial accrual for pending in-store personnel salary deductions
• Generate and maintain payroll records for In-Store personnel in the AS400 financial package. Ensure accuracy of store pay arrangements.
• Audit EDI Retail sales and distribute retail sales report to Sales Teams
• Serve as a back-up for In-Store personnel billings, manage billing budgets and accruals
• Serve as a back-up to provide sales management with spend vs. budget analysis for our Flagship stores


Experience/Skill Requirements:


The successful candidate will have a college degree and 3+ years prior Accounting experience. Incumbent must have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, as well as strong time management and organizational skills. This position requires the ability to work independently and as a team player. ADVANCED PROFICIENCY IN MICRSOFT EXCEL REQUIRED!!! Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is necessary. AS400 experience preferred.

 Responsibilities (time spent)

  1. Strategic marketing (20%)
    1. Customer insight: Develop a keen understanding of why customers buy and translate it into product characteristics and requirements.
    2. Competitive strategy: Evaluate, understand and predict competitors’ activities.
    3. Scientific and clinical knowledge: Understand the science behind the products and identify future products or line extensions based on this knowledge
    4. Thought leader relationships: Identify the key thought leaders in the industry and develop a strong working relationship with them, so they become advisors to the company and advocate the company’s products. Work with scientific advisory board and use their expertise and resources to grow the business.
    5. Technology platforms: Identify and evaluate current and emerging technologies that may impact the business and develop recommendations as appropriate.
    6. Business development: Identify and assist in selling large accounts. Identify and promote potential partnership opportunities that can significantly grow the business.
  2. Tactical marketing (60%)
    1. Sales support: Work with sales management to understand the needs of the sales team and develop creative solutions as necessary. Develop selling tools, sales training materials and generally work with the sales force to help increase sales. Perform sales training on assigned products. Assist in sales calls as necessary with difficult clients.
    2. Direct marketing: Develop and implement direct marketing tactics including snail mail, email, fax, Internet and other channels.
    3. Publications: Work with scientific leadership and thought leaders to publish abstracts and articles at meetings and symposiums as well as in journals.
    4. Trade shows: Develop and implement tradeshow marketing strategies and tactics. Attend tradeshows and other meetings as necessary to learn the clinical and technical science behind the products.
  3. Project management (20%)
    1. New product launches: Lead product launch teams as assigned. Assist in product launches as requested.
    2. Marketing projects: Lead or participate in marketing project teams and execute tasks as assigned.

Hi there,

I recently started a new job at a small pharmacutical company.  They have a fairly aggressive job referral program there and I just wanted to let everybody know that, as of 10 minutes ago when I looked, they currently have 86 open positions.  There are a lot of science positions but there are also other positions of all types (facilities, IT, QA, QC, admin and finance, etc).  So far I really like the company and the positions seem to be stable.  Please email me and I'll give you the info and website where you can go see what they have available.
