Deadmau5, SHM, Kaskade, etc. Any EDM fans out there???

EDM= Electronic Dance Music!

I was just wondering if there were any other EDM addicts out there. I have found a couple of friends on NJYP who share my love of EDM and we go to clubs like Pacha NYC, and the Electric Zoo Festival, etc.

If you love house, trance, electro, or anything in between, please let me know!!! If you can't get enough of Avicii, Tiesto, Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, or the boys in Swedish House Mafia... you're a friend of mine!!! :-)

Looking for some new friends who want to hit up the major clubs and shows, and aren't afraid to stay out till the sun comes up. Hahaha!

Hey John!

I'll admit, I'm not into trance much. Armin van Buuren and Tiesto are basically the 2 biggest names in trance, and are basically the top 2 DJ's in the world of EDM. I am 98% a house fan, so trance is pretty low on my interest level. However, my NJYP buddy Devin likes trance, and we went to Electric Zoo last year. You should look into it for this year (Labor Day Weekend in NYC).

I go to Pacha every few weeks for different house DJs. Not too much trance at Pacha. And I'm definitely not a raver (but dressed up as one for halloween this year... and nobody "got it") LOL!

Wow, it's great to find someone who enjoys this type of music!  I haven't been to a Rave in ... so long ... I'm acclimated nowadays to hip-hop - but would be nice to go back to my "roots" and dance to trance!

I only recognize DJ Tiesto from your list - let's see, on my PC I have the music from the following artists:  Safri Duo, Flying Steps, Future Sound of London, DJ Mangoo, DJ Ross, DJ Kaycee, DJ Inphinity, Dougal & Gammer, Electric Universe, Total Eclipse.  I also have some bootlegged CDs, sadly I don't remember the names.

Keep us posted on any clubs you go to!

I LOVE HOUSE & ALL THE DJs YOU JUST NAMED. I go to as many shows as I can. Last one I went to was  Thanksgiving Eve @ Webster Hall - Paul Oakenfold, Roger Sanchez, Chuckie, Sidney Samson & Nervo. Really wanted to see Angello on NYE but none of my friends want to go :(

SO yeah! Let me know when you wanna party it up!

I love deadmau5, its about 85% of what i listen to! Rocks my world! I also enjoy Bassnectar, The Disco Biscuits, Lotus, etc..

But any shows in NYC, Philly or anything around I am willing to go to. I am hoping to go to bonnaroo again, and maybe Mountian Jam in NY. So please let me know of any shows !!!!!

PS. i wish i could have gone to Electric Zoo... i was dumb and forgot!

RAINA!!! I am SO mad that I didn't post this sooner. I've been BEGGING people to go to Angello for NYE for weeks and couldn't find anyone so I changed my plans and am having a small party at my house instead. DAMN DAMN DAMN!!! Well, at least I know I can count on you next time!

My Pacha lineup for January includes Afrojack and Laidback Luke on the 7th and 8th (hopefully I'll make it to both), and possibly Dada Life on the 28th. I AM SOOOO in love with SHM, and my man Ingrosso is coming back to Pacha on Feb 4th! I saw him there in November and it was the most AMAZING night of my life! HAHA!

We will DEF exchange contact info and party together!!! FOR SURE!

Nishan! Go online and buy your E-zoo tix NOW, before the price goes up! They're changing it to 3-days this year, and with taxes and fees, it comes out to $170 for all 3 days. It is an absolute MUST! Devin and I had the best time!!!

Mau5 is awesome! I saw him in October at Harrahs Pool. Were you there? I'm not too familiar with those other artists you mentioned, but have definitely heard of them. I have a youtube channel with some amazing videos of a lot of the artists I mentioned in my original post. I'll post it.

I just told Raina my Pacha lineup for January. Check it out and let me know if any of them interest you. So glad to make some new EDM friends! Awesome!!!

You're so lucky that you got to be so close at the deadmau5 show! I will be buying tickets for EZ, have to get a couple of my friends to come with.

I inched my way closer and closer until I was directly in front of him! Awesome for video taping, but ya lose the crowd feeling (and all of the abuse you suffer like getting punched and your toes stepped on) LOL! I would go to E-zoo alone if I absolutely had to... I made friends at the event. It's unbelievable! Can't wait!!!

This is a christmas miracle, it's great to find people who love this kind of music, I knew I wasn't the only one...LOL. Well, I love House, Progressive, Trance, Vocal Trance..basically an EDM addict. I'm not a raver though. There is quite a difference...hehe.

I grew up with a good dose of Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren and Paul Van Dyk....Armin is still on top of my list, but I moved to Above & Beyond, who've become one of my favorties for quite a while now.

The list on my ipod now is typically an eclectic mix of Trance and House:

Trance - AVB, Above & Beyond, Dash Berlin, BT, Sasha, Aly & Fila, John O' Callaghan, Cosmic Gate and the like...

House - I feel home with Deadmau5, Eric Prydz, David Guetta,  ATB, Deep Dish, Chemical Brothers, Benny Benassi...the list goes on...

I've been to Pasha a couple of times and Cielo as well, but haven't attended Electric Zoo yet...I definitely want to do it next year. The last big Trance event I attended was back in 2007, in Los Angeles - when I saw Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten and Judge Jules, live at the Monster Massive festival.

I moved from Phoenix about 4 months ago, so i'm hoping to get to know a few places that play this kind of music in the area. I literally have to plead with my friends to go to these events...haha. Has anyone been to the Winter Music Conference in Miami?

My boyfriend and I are house and trance fans also (myself more than him).  We went to EZ this past year and while we're not planning to go back next year, we ARE planning our first trip to Ibiza over the summer.  Keep me posted on any get-togethers/clubs/trips you all are planning!

I discovered the uplifting and visceral connectedness i can draw from progressive house/trance watching an MTV special in the late 90's showcasting Paul Oakenfold. From there it has been pure addiction.

My 1st cd was Oakenfold's Tranceport. Bought it - "shot it up" in me through my ears countless times. I was hooked. Definitely an addict.

Once when i was in grad school, 2001-02, early morning, i drove from my place a German good friend of mine, Floriann, who had crashed at my suite. Probably not even 9am, we got in my car, turn on the cd-player, Timo Maas playing. And Floriann approving yells out "Wow, i have never met someone who listens to this stuff first thing in the morning".

Throughout the years, I have been to live multiple sets by Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Pete Tong, Sasha, Paul Van Dyke, Deadmau5, and a host of lesser known dj's who play at clubs all over the place. I have been to Pacha, the defunct Crobar, Webster Hall, and other venues adapted for this type of event. I would love to catch live who started it all - Oakenfold, and also see some of my other favorites i have never heard live, such as Ferry Corsten, Markus Schultz, and Above & Beyond.

And one day i want to fulfill my wish of seeing one of the big Dutch DJ's playing in a venue in their own homeland - Holland. That might be the end of my EDM addiction. My musical death. Cause: eargasm overdose.

Until then - i am just another EDM addict :)

Gio...

This is one of the BEST posts I've ever read! This would be an amazing blog entry! I love your explanation of the addiction... perfect!!! Plus, an eargasm is a perfectly suitable death (as long as it is caused from a hau5gasm) hehehe.

PVD is doing a show in the city sometime soon. Also, a lot of other trance guys are on tour. I saw Markus and A&B at E-Zoo last year. They were really good... and as I said, I'm really not a trance girl (hardly at all).

The trip to Holland sounds like my own fantasy trip to Ibiza. I'm really loving the dutch house sound. Are you going to Afrojack at Pacha this Friday night (Jan 7th). Tickets are pretty expensive, ugh.
