Over 950,000 Americans currently are living with Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, or myeloma. Now you can help make a difference--and have an awesome time while doing it!

Join your friends and peers on February 24, 2011 at Roxy & Duke's Roadhouse in Dunellen, N.J. (www.roxyanddukes.com), for a charity band night. Pre-order tickets here: http://music4acure.eventbrite.com/ ($10 online, $15 at door)

The event, which will run f...rom 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., will feature performances from:

* Fifteen Fleeting (15F): Described as one of New Jersey's fastest growing indie/alternative bands by Rock 101.9 RXP, 15F offers an ecclectic, alternative rock fusion that continuously has evolved since its start in 2007. The group, which recently released its self-recorded album Presents, opened for My Chemical Romance and Gaslight Anthem in December 2010 at the Roseland Ballroom. www.myspace.com/fifteenfleeting

* Small Town Scoundrels: The five-person band, started in 2008 in Hillsborough, N.J., presents a euphonious, premium blend of reinvented Indie, Hip-Hop, Alternative, Rock, Funk, and Jazz genres. The band recently recently performed this past summer at Warped Tour 2K10 @ Nassau Coliseum and is presently working toward playing at Bamboozle 2K11 this year.

* Modern Airs: The alternative, Jersey-city based band is fairly new to the music scene and currently is wrapping up the finishing touches on their self-produced album. Having played at numerous locations in both New Jersey and New York, including venues such as Sullivan Hall and The Crossroads, the four-person group offers an interpretive mix of rock and jazz. www.myspace.com/modernairs

* Local acoustic musician Kevin Reavey. Reavey is a singer/songwriter from Montclair, N.J. He has shared a stage with Jason Mraz, Tristan Prettyman, and many other nationally touring music acts. His music has been described by audiences as having the emoitonal style of James Taylor, the quick wit of Barenaked Ladies, and the verbal linguistics of Better Than Erza. www.youtube.com/kevinspocket

All ticket sales from this one-night charity event will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training (TNT), the world's leading sports charity training program that raises funds to benefit blood cancer research. Highland Park, N.J.-resident Larissa Steinberg (25), will represent the New Jersey area, along with 20 other locals, as she competes in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Disney Princess half-marathon on February 27 in Orlando, Fl.

Sadly I already have other plans for the 24th but please help support LLS.   Leukemia and Lymphoma are horribly debilitating illnesses and hopefully a cure can be found so that others will not have to suffer in the way others have.

Sounds like fun for a good cause.  Who's in?
Already got my tickets! Should be a lot of fun-- I can't wait :)
I have my ticket too. =)
Am going and bringing along some friends.. great cause.. thanks :)

Hey Chris,

You can still help by passing on the word about the concert. You can also help by making a donation to the LLS through my fundraising site for a half marathon I'm doing this month! Any amount would be greatly appreciated. Together hopefully we can beat this beast of an illness. You can visit my fundraising page @ http://pages.teamintraining.org/nj/dipihalf11/lsteinbzil
