DOG LOVERS? DOG PARK MEET-UPS FOR THE SPRING AND SUMMER!

Hey NJYP!

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a meet-up at a dog park. I have two small dogs and would love to meet fellow dog lovers. It would give my little ones some friends to play with, off the leash! Let me know if you are interested. I would love to arrange some dates and times.

Here are two Dog Parks that seem to be top rated in NJ:

Maplewood/Millburn NJ

Essex County South Mountain Dog Park
Essex County South Mountain Reservation, Crest Drive,
A very nice dog park with two seperate areas, one for big dogs and the other for small dogs. There are all sorts of slides and ramps for the dogs to play on and run across, and even water fountains especially for dogs, low to the ground. Entrance to Crest Drive is off of South Orange Avenue in South Orange. Open dawn to dusk

Livingston NJ

Livingston Dog Park
East Hills Park, on Shrewsbury Drive, 8/10 mile south of East Mount Pleasant Ave.
The Livingston Dog Park has two distinct play areas. A small dog park allows dogs 25 pounds or lighter to socialize without being overwhelmed by larger dogs. The large dog park is available for dogs of all sizes. Both areas offer shade and benches. The large dog park has a water fountain which operates during frost free days. In addition, another feature of East Hills Park includes a 1 ½ mile long wooded nature trail with fitness stations. Dogs are permitted on the nature trails but must be kept on a leash. DOGS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A LIVINGSTON DOG PARK PASS. DOG PARK PASSES ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE TOWNSHIP OF LIVINGSTON HEALTH DEPARTMENT. FINES ARE ISSUED FOR NON COMPLIANCE

I would love to do a dog playdate! I have a 13lb poodle but we are down in Mercer County - they have a nice dog park at the Mercer County Park though.

Thank you for your interest Jacqueline! It would've been great for our babies to have a pup date! Too bad we live so far apart. It would be too much for the little tykes to be in the car for so long.

Hi Rachel!

I love chocolate labs. Montclair is a bit of a distance for me. I would have loved to hang out with you and your dog though. My babies are tiny. One is 12lbs and the other is 7lbs. I think they would be in a different section of the play area. Thank you anyway!

I like the sound of this!  My pup will want to socialize with you guys more than your dogs (he thinks he is human), but it would be good for him!  He is 9lbs of love :-)

That is so cute Nicole! What county do you live in? Are any of the pup parks, listed above, convenient for you?
@Jacqueline: I've been looking for dog events/parks too and I also live in Mercer Co. I have a 19lb Cavalier King Charles Spaniel...haven't been to check out any dog parks yet, I see you're looking into going to the girls friending event in April?

Hi Misti

I would be interested to take my little dog to the park. I have  a mini pincher almost 7 lbs .I live by Woodbridge , so  the best location for me will be Maplewood. I 've been in one of these dog park  before but I don't remember which one. I think it was Livingston because It was really nice.
