Hello again, Fellow WINOS!!!

I am planning our 3rd Wine BYO, which will be held in Morristown on May 21th at 7:30pm (You're welcome,North-Jersey-ians! haha).  I have selected venues which were recommended by people familiar with the area. (THANKS to Michael & James!)

THE LOCATION FOR DINNER IS:

For the "DANCE portion of the evening" (if you wish to attend), We can go up the road to: "Grasshopper off the Green" (recommended by James!)

For those of you (like myself) who may need hotel accommodations after our night of fun, The Morristown Hyatt is less than a mile away!

Let me know what you think, and if you may be interested!!!

:-)

"TWIST FOR THIS BYO" -- I think it would be nice to have someone win (a small amount of $$) for the "most liked wine"... Everyone can put $5 into a pot upon arrival. (I
will have a list of everyone who is attending and check off names
accordingly). THEN- by the end of the night, once everyone has sampled
all the wine, they can write down their favorite wine. Who ever brought
the wine that has the most votes WINS! We usually have at least 15
people at these events... so that's $75 to the winner!!! (OR we can do a
1st prize, 2nd prize, 3rd prize...).  LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK! :-)

===

Just to recap the "rules":

1. RSVP accordingly - let me know if you have a "+1"
2. Bring a bottle of wine of your choice (red, white, champagne,
rose...)
3. Bring $5 for the "Contest"... Check in with me when you arrive so I
can check your name off. Who ever brings the wine that gets the most
votes will win the $$ (We may do a 1st, 2nd, 3rd Prize...)
4. BE SAFE!!!! There will be a lot of wine to "taste", be sure to pace
yourself, and have a DD, or a place to stay close by (IF NECESSARY)!!!
5. Bring comfortable shoes if you plan on attending the "after party"
:-p

And, as always: REMEMBER: "Life is too short to drink bad wine!"

CHEERS!

Becca- I called Origin, although they are a BYO, they can't accommodate 15 + people on a Friday night! (BOO!)

I will take Tim Schaefer's option off though, if you think it will also be too small....

Going to look further into Michael's suggestion...

STAY TUNED... :-)
Hi Robin,
I'd love to come. Someone recommended Brick Oven --but your choices sound good also!
like the one you wanted to swipe and take home for yourself? ;)

Deborah- The trick is to pick your favorite early, before "sampling" multiple times! LOL.

Yes. we'll wait off on the restaurant selection... I am hoping to get a lot of input (COME ON MO-TOWN-ERS!!! haha)

:-)
La Campagna is a good BYOB restaurant in Morristown. Do not go to Provesi they have a rodent problem.
Count me in if there's room for one more.
Sounds like a great plan, looking forward to wherever you decide :)
Robin-I'm still dying to come to one of your events. I'll have to let you know as the date gets closer though. =)
La Campagne looks great, Michelle. That was actually one of my top choices originally... Not sure why I didn't put it on the "list", LOL.

I personally think wine is best with great Italian food, so let's decide between the following:

LA CAMPAGNE:

or

BRICK OVEN:

If you'd like to attend, please let me know what you'd prefer!

I CAN'T WAIT!!! :-)

Hi Robin,
Your event sounds great! I'd love to come (as long as you introduce me to some folks). I'm new to the "winos." :)
Sure, Jen. The more the merrier. The group of people changes a bit every time we have a BYO, but there has been a few regulars. NO worries if you don't know anyone. As long as you love wine, you are welcome! :-)

Be sure to keep an eye on the forum for updates.
Count me in for the next one too!!
I have not been to either! Based on the menu choices I vote for La Campagne...though it is more expensive!
