hi guys, to be honest if you are completely new, you should wait for the new intro class that will start in Sept.

a lot of newbies joined last night's class and the instructor was overwhelmed since she had to teach basics as opposed to continuing onto leaving new steps for the members who have been attending the past month.

the instructor, Brandis, mentioned that the new salsa 1 class will start on Sept 13th Monday at 9pm. here's the website: http://www.brandisdance.com/index2.html (just look at Sept calendar which is still in draft status).

i would definitely sign up for the Sept course. i think it will work more in your favor since the class before will be more advanced salsa and so some people might stick behind and be willing to practice with the newbies.
It was nice meeting everyone the other night! I definitely did feel a bit behind the ball and agree with Hermelinda that it would be best to start at level 1. Hopefully, I'll be able to make it out when the next level 1 classes start in Sept. Hope to see some others there!
ok Chris i guess i have to wait until 13th for me to attend any of the classes.I am pretty new to this and i need level 000.When did they say the new classes start?

Chris it was really nice meeting you this Monday. The new classes will be starting from Sept 13, Monday. All the new people who came on Monday did a wonderful job.

There will be a Cuban Salsa party this coming Sat, Aug 21 (Details are on the webpage www.brandisdance.com). For those who want to join salsa, it would be a good idea to attend and see how the dance is. For those who are already learning salsa, its a good oppurtunity to practise the moves they already learned.

Will look forward to see you all!!!
Is anyone going tomorrow? If so, I'm down.
Hi Jill,
I'm not sure yet who is going tomorrow... I think tomorrow we are going to have a preview of the next level and just lots of practice on what we've already learned so far.
If you know what you're doing - feel free to join us, but if you are a beginner, I suggest starting at level 1(which a couple others in this thread were talking about doing). Level 1 starts again on 9/13 http://www.brandisdance.com/index2.html

Hi Huma,
I would like to join. My name is Carmela and my sister did professional ballroom dancing at her college in UPenn. My family loves to dance and i do too however i am not that great at salsa and would love to learn more.
I just became a member of NJYP and i dont know if its too late for tonight but let me know
Hi Carmela,

First, WELCOME!!! :) If you are new to salsa, I strongly suggest starting the new beginner's class on Sept 13th, Monday. We are starting level 3 today so it will be very hard to keep up.

Either way, a whole group of us meet up at Outback off of Rt 1 for some drinks so you can meet up with us afterwards.

Herme

Hi Carmela, welcome to NJYP. I agree with Herme, if you want to learn from beginning the new classes starting from Sept 13. If you want to come in see how the class is, you r welcome to come at 8pm tonight. All of us get together at Outback on rt 1 for drinks afterwards. You are welcome to join us there at 9pm.

Hope to see you soon...
Hey guys - don't think I'm going to make it tonight... didn't sleep well last night and work is crazy today, will probably have to do some work from home tonight. :(

Welcome to the new girls! Hope to meet you soon!
Still coming to the 9 o clock meetup afterwards?
