Event Description

The name Sourland is believed to be derived from “sorrel-land” which describes the reddish-brown colored soils encountered by the pioneering farmers..but this hike is anything but sour.  Located on the edge of suburbia, the 4,000 acre Sourland Mountain Preserve is a great way to escape and enjoy connecting with the outdoors.  We will enjoy a late-spring hike through pristine woods and rocky hillsides.  After we have our fill of the fresh air the group will head out for drinks and a late lunch (totally optional but always fun).

Just a reminder - this hike is on!  We may have to wait out a passing shower for a few minutes, but this could turn out to be perfect hiking weather compared to the last few days!

We've been keeping an eye on the weather and decided that tomorrow's hike is ON, no matter what!

If you arrive and it's raining find Keira in the parking lot for guidance.  We'll probably wait out the storm or go for breakfast first.  IF the rain never stops then all tix wil be refunded AND I'll give you a FRE* ticket to any other summer hike.

Remember to dress for a possible passing shower (heck, it'll probably feel good) and to bring lots of water.

Best,
Laura
