I haven't been to an Indian restaurant in a while (partly because I have a hard time trying to convince friends to go to one); and I've had a bit of a craving recently.

I have heard good things about a place in Lawrenceville (a little Southwest of Princeton) called Passage to India:

...drop a note, if anyone is interested in grabbing a meal there sometime (or anywhere else for that matter).

I've had good experience there in the past; I've mostly done their lunch buffet although I know I've had dinner at least once. Crown of India is favored by some of my former coworkers... over by that bagel shop everyone likes in Plainsboro. Personally, I liked Flavor of India near Romeo's pizza (I think that's what it is called). Downtown Princeton, I really like Kalluri Corner above Thai Village (I know there are a couple other places there people like better). However, my current favorite place is in North Brunswick by the Regal movie theater, Guru Palace. I can only really do Sundays and Mondays, though. Not sure if you were interested in other places but I thought I'd share anyhow.
I'm not crazy about Passage to India (it's alright, but not great, imho)- but I think Palace of Asia, also in Lawrenceville, is absolutely AMAZING!

I always take my parents to Guru Palace on their b-days- it's a great place.
OK. That's two votes for Guru Palace. I'm sold.

I think I'm free anytime this weekend (after 1-ish); and given a couple of days notice, I can usually fit dinner in during the week (not this coming Monday though).

Anyone interested in doing lunch on Sunday (13 June)...around 1pm, maybe?

Thanks for all of the input, too!
Actually- June's not looking too good for me- I didn't realize we were going to do it so soon- maybe in July?
hey all - I have never tried Indian food and have always wanted too and I live in Lawrenceville. The 13th doesn't work for me but let me alternate dates and i'll check my schedule. Thanks! Claudia
I live in Lawrenceville and would possibly interested in joinng, depending on what date is chosen.

I'm in the same boat as Salma.
I'd be up for trying a new Indian place. I've had Indian food before, but not in the Princeton area. Count me in.
btw- I don't know if anyone saw the "foodventure" forum that Jill started- we're going to Makeda (amazing Ethiopian food) on July 10th. I believe there's room for 2 more, if anyone's interested.
Palace of Asia in the Hamilton area right off of Quakerbridge Rd. is pretty good (a little pricey at $15 for their lunch buffet, but good).
Since we now have a quorum, I'm going to throw out the following date for consideration:

Palace of Asia (seems to be the popular choice)
Sunday, 11 July 2010
Lunch c. 1pm

Any thoughts or comments?
July 11th- man, I don't know about that- it's right after Ethipian day. I know this sounds REALLY far away, but what about the last week of july?
